Week 10 Power Rankings!
Last week's rank in ()
1. New England Patriots (7-2) (4)
They demolished Peyton and the Broncos, and now are the top seed in the AFC. They have a BYE, but then another showdown against IND in Week 11.
2. Arizona Cardinals (7-1) (2)
Another week another win for Arizona, although against a back-up QB in Dallas. This team is very balanced, and Palmer looks like the QB everyone thought he would be coming out of USC.
3. Denver Broncos (6-2) (1)
Their loss to NE was surprising in the way that they got destroyed, but not many go into Foxboro and win. Their two losses are @NE and @SEA, very respectable. I would hate to be OAK this week.
4. Philadelphia Eagles (6-2) (3)
They won a trap game @HOU, but they lost their QB. Most teams wouldn’t be able to handle that, but Sanchez might not be much of a downgrade. He should be fine against a bad CAR defense.
5. Indianapolis Colts (6-3) (6)
Andrew Luck is so damn good. He makes this offensive line look so much better than they actually are. The real question is: why did the Giants let the Colts play press man to man all game?
6. Green Bay Packers (5-3) (8)
This is a big week for the Packers with Chicago coming to town. They can’t afford a loss to keep up with DET. Hopefully, Rodgers’ hammy is okay.
7. Detroit Lions (6-2) (9)
This weekend’s game should be doozy. Miami is as hot of a team as anyone, and Lions are getting back All-Pro WR Calvin Johnson. They had a BYE to rest up, let’s see if they are ready for 2nd half of the season and the divisional title.
8. Seattle Seahawks (5-3) (7)
A win is a win, but that game against OAK wasn’t to convincing. They find themselves two games back of ARI, with @KC, 2 vs ARI, 2 vs SF, and @PHI still left on the schedule. This team could actually miss the playoffs.
9. Pittsburgh Steelers (6-3) (15)
Just three weeks ago we thought this team was average at best, now they have the hottest QB and their DEF, especially Harrison, is playing very well. They play NYJ and TENN before their BYE, I will be very shocked if they don’t easily win both.
10. Dallas Cowboys (6-3) (5)
Back to back losses, and now this team is being questioned. This loss was expected without Romo, but now the question is when/if he’s back, will he be close to 100%. ARI is a beast against the rush, so don’t get too worried about Murray.
11. Cincinnati Bengals (5-2-1) (13)
We all know my hatred for this team, but they do find themselves atop the AFC North halfway through the season. They will be favored in each of their next 4, will they actually live up to expectations?
12. Kansas City Chiefs (5-3) (14)
Opposite of the Bengals, I love this team and have loved them for many weeks now! They are now just 1GB of DEN and they still have DEN coming into their stadium in week 13. They do have some tricky games @BUF, vs SEA, and @OAK before they get their chance at DEN.
13. Miami Dolphins (5-3) (17)
Another really hot team, winning 4 of their last 5. They will need to be at their best with @DET, vs BUF, @DEN, vs BALT, and @NE as 5 of their next 6 games.
14. Baltimore Ravens (5-4) (10)
This team has certainly trended backward in the last 2 weeks, with 2 huge division losses. They now find themselves last in the AFC North, and where has Steve Smith gone!?
15. New Orleans Saints (4-4) (18)
Luckily they play in a division that let them take 8 games to find their way. They are now atop the NFC South, but still have SF, CIN, BAL as their next 3 games but all at home.
16. San Francisco 49ers (4-4) (12)
This team looked terrible on Sunday, and now are 3GB in the division. Their schedule is brutal, and I believe this team will miss the playoffs.
17. Buffalo Bills (5-3) (16)
They had their BYE to get healthy and try and find a running game. They have two huge games now vs KC and @MIA. Those 3 teams are all bunched in a group of contenders/pretenders, we will find out a lot.
18. San Diego Chargers (5-4) (11)
Once 5-1, now they’re 5-4 and 3rd in the division. They get their BYE at a good time. They have two must wins against OAK and STL after the BYE, but then they have @BAL, NE, DEN, @SF, @KC after that. I don’t think this team can do it.
19. Houston Texans (4-5) (19)
They had a chance to stay in the division race and get a huge win vs PHI, but came up short. Now Foster is hurt and there are people wanting a new QB. It sucks for this defense since they are so good, but they aren’t a playoff team.
20. Cleveland Browns (5-3) (22)
Another win against a terrible team for the Browns. And yet they still didn’t impress. If they beat Cincy Thursday I will start to think they might have a chance to contend for a playoff spot, until then they are just a product of an easy schedule.
21. Chicago Bears (3-5) (24)
This week marks the last chance Chicago has to save their season. They need to go into Lambeau and win. Their only chance at that is getting these 2 WRs going.
22. Carolina Panthers (3-5-1) (20)
They looked downright awful on TNF against a average NO team. This defense is terrible and Cam just can’t do everything for their offense. If he isn’t great, this team struggles.
23. Minnesota Vikings (4-5) (25)
Somehow they are 4-5, but haven’t beat a team with more than 3 wins. They might get AP which is interesting, but they are 8-8 at best.
24. St. Louis Rams (3-5) (27)
The Rams are the ultimate spoiler. They only get up for divisional games, but it is at least exciting to watch.
25. New York Giants (3-5) (21)
They are bad, period. They have a vanilla offense, and this defense doesn’t scare anyone. Beckham is a talent and when Jennings is healthy he is a stud, besides that they are nothing more than a 6-10 team.
26. Washington Redskins (3-6) (23)
Well that was easy. Just when we thought WSH might have a chance to turn around their season, they lose to the Vikings. RG3 didn’t look terrible and Morris is back to his old self, but this defense is just as bad as they were last year. I am still looking to see if Garcon plays football for this team.
27. Atlanta Falcons (2-6) (26)
2GB of the Saints with 8 to play. I am not giving up on my bromance with the Falcons yet. They have @TB, @CAR, vs CLE as their next 3, call me crazy but I believe they go 3-0.
28. Tennessee Titans (2-6) (28)
There is never anything fun to write about this team. They are bad, have no QB or any good RBs.. That’s it, that’s all.
29. Jacksonville Jaguars (1-8) (29)
They competed yet again with a solid CIN team, but fell short like always. They have so much young talent, and Denard Robinson looks like he could be a solid RB. I hope their offseason goes well.
30. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-7) (30)
At least they have gave up on Doug Martin, all be it, about 8 weeks after everyone else already had.
31. New York Jets (1-8) (31)
Since when was Mike Vick a precision passer!? 21-28 and no turnovers might be the best ball control he has ever had. They might compete against average teams this season, just enough to keep them out of the top 5-7 picks.
32. Oakland Raiders (0-8) (32)
Oakland actually was within an onside kick vs SEA. They aren’t good, but they don’t get blown out too often. They should be looking forward to week 13, their first legit chance at a win.
WEEK 10 MVP RACE UPDATE:
1. Tom Brady – NE
64.1 Comp. %, 2,392 yards, 22-3 TD/INT ratio. He and the Patriots are on fire right now! He is tied for the best TD/INT ratio and has his team atop the AFC.
2. Ben Roethlisberger – PIT
68.3 Comp. %, 2,720 yards, 22-3 TD/INT ratio. Well this came out of left field, he wasn’t even on the others to consider! He now has 12 TDs in his last 2 games and is tied for the best TD/INT ratio.
3. Andrew Luck – IND
63.6 Comp. %, 3,085 yards, 26-9 TD/INT ratio. He has been around the #3 mark all season but I like his chances to get his 1st MVP. If he can beat Brady and keep up this yardage pace, he will be a solid candidate.
4. Peyton Manning – DEN
67.3 Comp. %, 2,572 yards, 24-5 TD/INT ratio. Rough fall for Manning, and with not leading the league in any passing stat it will be tough. Also, not being atop the AFC will be another reason the voters vote for someone new. Don’t be shocked though if he is atop this list by week 12/13.
5. DeMarco Murray – DAL
1,383 total yards, 1,113 rushing, 154 YPG, 7 TDs. His run is over. It was an uphill battle for an RB to win the MVP, and now that they have lost 2 games in a row and he doesn’t have his yardage streak, it is nearly impossible.
Others to consider: Aaron Rodgers, Rob Gronkowski, JJ Watt, Jeremy Maclin, Antonio Brown
