Well first off I want to say I hope your fantasy team survived all of the injuries in Week 1; that seemed to be one of the themes in the first week of the NFL season.
For Kyle’s Money Makin’ Picks in Week 1, we went 2-1 with our only loss coming with the Colts getting dominated in Buffalo. But for the Community Pick, you guys started with a L! The Eagles not only didn’t cover, the lost the game.
As for our Hot Starters: We nailed our Top 4 Hot Starters as Brady had 27, Carson Palmer 25, Rashad Jennings 11, and Jordan Matthews had over 100 yards receiving for 10 points, but had a TD that Chip Kelly decided not to challenge or he would have had even a better day.
As for our Bench Warmers: Melvin Gordon (4), Wilson (15), Fleener (2), Newton (12), J. Bell (3), Watkins (0), Tate (2) all had very rough games as I called. Dwayne Allen only had 7 point, predicted 5 or less, so that wasn’t bad either. One really bad call was D. Hopkins, but overall between both sections I would say Week 1 was a major success!
Hopefully you had a successful Week 1! Now onto Week 2! I am changing the order for the season. Tuesday’s will be for NFL Power Rankings while Wednesday will be rankings. This will give me a better idea on injuries throughout the season to make better rankings. So without further ado, Week 2 NFL Power Rankings!
Week 2 NFL Power Rankings!
1. Green Bay Packers (1-0) (1)
Nothing in Week 1 could change my mind about the Pack. Now they take on Seattle!
2. New England Patriots (1-0) (4)
They looked really good on offense and Gronk is unstoppable. They take on the Bills which should be interesting.
3. Seattle Seahawks (0-1) (2)
Not going to overreact about a OT loss on the road. They started 3-3 last season and we saw what they did. They could start 0-2 though with the Pack up next.
4. Indianapolis Colts (0-1) (3)
Yes, they looked bad @BUF, but that is a great defense in a hostile environment which is tough for a Week 1 game. My biggest concern is Andre and Gore looking pretty darn old. That being said they still have Luck in a terrible division.
5. Denver Broncos (1-0) (5)
Concern about Peyton, yes, but that defense is VERY good. There division is pretty tough and they have a very difficult game this Thursday @KC.
6. Baltimore Ravens (1-0) (6)
In a slug fest they found themselves on the wrong end on the score in Denver. They wont play that kind of defense every week.
7. Dallas Cowboys (1-0) (9)
Should be 0-1 for sure, but they got a miracle and just dumbass time management by NYG. The loss of Dez is huge, but I don't think they will fall very far in this division while they wait on him to get back.
8. Arizona Cardinals (1-0) (10)
Carson Palmer came back and looked real solid! Arizona never has a problem winning at home, but its the road games that are the problem. They have one this week, all be it against the Bears.
9. Pittsburgh Steelers (0-1) (8)
That is not a bad loss by any means @NE on opening night. They get Bell back after this week, but they need to get much better on defense.
10. Kansas City Chiefs (1-0) (11)
They played very well in the first half and then just coasted in the 2nd half and actually let the Texans back in the game. That being said, they were impressive.
11. Buffalo Bills (1-0) (16)
Speaking of impressive, that's what the Bills were against the Colts! But I will not overreact as it was a home opener in some rough weather. Let's see this weekend against NE.
12. San Diego Chargers (1-0) (12)
What a nice comeback from the Chargers to take down the Lions. I still don't buy Gordon, but Rivers just finds a way.
13. Cincinnati Bengals (1-0) (15)
The Bengals were many peoples' upset watch on Sunday, but they just went out and killed the Raiders. They take an early lead in the AFC North.
14. St. Louis Rams (1-0) (24)
They always give the Seahawks a hard time, but this time they found a way to win. This defensive line is very impressive, I just don't buy Nick Foles yet.
15. Miami Dolphins (1-0) (14)
Well they won, that is about all the positive I got from them Week 1. Ryan Tannehill most throw the ball down the field if he and this team want to take the next step.
16. Atlanta Falcons (1-0) (19)
They almost blew this game after being up 20-3 at half, but actually held on, something they didn't do last season. I like what I saw in this offense Week 1, but I think the defense was the impressive part as they were god awful last season.
17. Philadelphia Eagles (0-1) (7)
Well it took forever for this offense to click but it finally did but it was just a bit too late. I was kind of shocked by the lack trust either Bradford or Chip had on the outside with their WRs. Too many dumpoffs to the RBs for my liking. This was not the offense I was expecting.
18. San Francisco 49ers (1-0) (20)
I thought this team would be better than most expected but they looked even better than I expected. That being said, I am not buying Minnesota at all this season so I am not sure the 49ers beat much of a team. Let's see what they do @PIT.
19. Detroit Lions (0-1) (13)
Well they completely collapsed in their game on Sunday. Besides for Abdullah, this offense was very unimpressive on Sunday.
20. New Orleans Saints (0-1) (17)
They are classic 2014 Saints again. If Brees and the offense can't put up 30+ points they wont win.
21. New York Jets (1-0) (23)
They got an easy victory Sunday but it was against the Browns. The Colts will be a different story this week.
22. Tennessee Titans (1-0) (26)
Yes Mariota played very well, but remember the team they beat was the worst team in 2014. Titans fan be excited but tame your immediate expectations.
23. Carolina Panthers (1-0) (22)
Much like Tennessee they got the victory, but it was against a bad team (Jacksonville). Offense has much improvement to make if they want to win the NFC South.
24. New York Giants (1-0) (18)
Could have had a huge division road win, instead they completely handed the Cowboys the game. They need a bounce back win at home against the Falcons.
25. Houston Texans (0-1) (25)
This team is going nowhere fast with this QB situation. The defense played awful in the first half, but played like we expected second half. This team will struggle to win games if they allow more than 10-14 points.
26. Minnesota Vikings (0-1) (21)
As I stated last week, everyone is drinking this team's Kool-Aid, but I am not buying. I have one question from Week 1, what the hell was Norv Turner doing calling all of those passes in the 1st half!?
27. Chicago Bears (0-1) (27)
The Bottom 6 Teams remain the same, just different order. There just isn't much hope for any of these teams in 2015.
28. Jacksonville Jaguars (0-1) (31)
29. Washington Redskins (0-1) (30)
30. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-1) (28)
31. Oakland Raiders (0-1) (29)
32. Cleveland Browns (0-1) (32)
