Marvin Jones vs KC: Marvin Jones has scored 25 points in the last two weeks combined including 2 touchdowns, and dating back to Week 17 of the 2012 season, Jones has 13 touchdowns in 20 games. Now combined that with he is going against a defense that has allowed 42 fantasy points per week to opposing WR’s and you get a fantastic sleeper here. It’s not even that they allowed this many points to only good teams; they allowed 40 fantasy points to the Texans wide recievers. I think Jones is a low end #2 WR this week and an absolute must start in Draft Kings at only $3,800! Prediction: 15 Fantasy Points
Frank Gore vs JAC:As much as Gore had been a headache until the Week 3, he really hasn’t had a terrible year from a statistical standpoint. Gore is averaging 4.7 yards per carry, that is good for the 12th best in the league and better than Matt Forte, Joseph Randle, and Eddie Lacy. The reason he was a bad play the first two weeks were because of his opportunities and one fluke play. Gore only had 8 carries against the dominate Buffalo defense and still averaged 3.8 yards per carry, and if he doesn’t have a very fluky fumbled against the Jets he has double digit fantasy points as he walks into the end zone on that play. Gore gets to go up against a Jaguar’s defense that is allowing 19.3 fantasy points to opposing RBs. I think the Colts get things rolling this week, and Gore should get plenty of run as they should be playing from ahead. Prediction: 19 Fantasy Points
Matt Ryan vs HOU: You would probably think going against JJ Watt is a bad idea when picking a QB, but the Texans the 5th most points to opposing QBs this season. Also, as good as Freeman was in Week 3, the Texans have yet to allow a rushing TD to an opposing RB. Matt Ryan is averaging over 18 fantasy points per game, and is throwing the ball nearly 4 times per game! I think Ryan ha stop 3 potential this week, and oh by the way he is throwing to a man in Julio that is physically unable to be stopped right now. Prediction: 22 Fantasy Points
Others I like: Andy Dalton vs KC, Joe Flacco @PIT, Mark Ingram vs DAL, Karlos Williams vs NYG, Rueben Randle @BUF, Martellus Bennett vs OAK
Carson Palmer vs STL: This one is a bit of a risk, but I am feeling lucky. Palmer has been arguably the hottest qb in the league not named Rodgers or Brady, and he is usually magnificent at home. That being said, this Rams defense is allowing just 11 points per game to opposing QBs. They haven’t played the cream of the crop, but they have played Wilson, Cousins (ugh), and 3 quarters of Big Ben. In the last 3 games that Palmer has played the Rams he has just 3 passing TDs total. I think this one is a low scoring game, and Palmer throws as many INTs as TDs. Prediction: 13 Fantasy Points
Justin Forsett vs BAL: Forsett has been a huge disappointment so far this season, and I am avoiding playing him at all cost this week. Forsett has a whopping 14 fantasy points in 3 games and is averaging a messily 3.2 yards per carry. The Steelers is actually much better than they are currently getting credit for, and they are fantastic against the run. They are only allowing 7.3 points to opposing running backs this season, the best in the NFL. They are allowing just 2.8 yards per carry against them this season, and they have yet to allow a rushing or receiving TD to a running back. Forsett is in for yet another bad game. Prediction: 5 Fantasy Points
Calvin Johnson @SEA: There are 2 reasons why I do not like Calvin as more than a low end #2 WR this week, and will be avoiding him in daily. First, he will have Richard Sherman on him in Seattle. The Lions have looked terrible so far this season, and just imagine how they will look in that stadium on Monday Night Football. Secondly, Johnson hasn’t been all that great in his last 7 games. He has only 3 TDs over that span, and has only topped 85 yards once in that span. Also, in those 7 games he has only caught 54% of his targets, which is not all his fault, but say Sherman holds him in decent check to 8 targets how many points does he get on 4/5 catches against this defense? Prediction: 6 Fantasy Points
Others I don’t like: Ryan Tannehill vs NYJ, DeMarco Murray vs WAS, Rashad Jennings vs BUF, Vincent Jackson/Mike Evans vs CAR, Terrance Williams @NO
THURSDAY NIGHT FANTASY PREVIEW
Week 4 is here! A must win for the Ravens as they sit at 0-3. Also, we get to see Mike Vick back on the field. As for fantasy, I am starting the two studs on the Steelers, and Steve Smith on the Ravens. I actually like Flacco in deeper leagues this week as I do have him on my Hot Starters “other I like” list, but besides that I am staying away from anyone else.
From a gambling perspective, I like over 44 here. All 3 Thursday night games have had 49 or more points. I know the Steelers are without Big Ben but I think Bell will dominate this Ravens defense. 3 of their last 4 match-ups have went over 44 in this rivalry. Good Luck!
