Just one game on the slate tonight, but with a terrible Wednesday, this becomes a must win with the weekend around the corner. Let's go SMU!
Week #16 FEB. 23 - FEB. 26, Games of the Week! YTD: 154-168-3
1.Mon. 7p.m.: #20 Louisville (21-6) @ Georgia Tech (12-15) Vegas: Louisville -6.5 Well initially this spread was just 4, that swhy I jumped on it. I know Chris Jones got kicked off the team, but that doesn't make Louisville "Georgia Tech Bad". I still expect Louisville and Patino to win this game comfortably, and even with it now being 6.5, I'll take it. Kyle's NOT-SO Money Makin' Pick: Louisville -6.5 2.Monday 8p.m.: Xavier (18-10) @ St. John’s (18-9) Vegas: St. John's -1.5 Big bubble Big East show down here. STJ has won 3 of 4 including a win @Xavier, while Xavier has won 4 of 5 with that only loss to STJ. STJ's only home losses in conference are to Butler and Nova, while Xavier is just 1-5 on the road in conference. I like STJ here alot. Kyle's NOT-SO Money Makin' Pick: St. John's -1.5
3.Tues. 7p.m.: #5 Wisconsin (25-2) @ #15 Maryland (22-5) Vegas: Wisconsin -6 Wisconsin, for all intents and purposes, can wrap up the Big 10 title with this game. Maryland has only lost one game at home all season, and that was to Virginia. That being said, the other teams they have beat are no where near the level of Wisconsin. Wisconsin is 5-1 on the road in the Big 10, and 4 of those wins have been by 8 or more. The crowd will be rockin' but I can not bet against this Wisconsin team right now. They are just too good. Kyle's NOT-SO Money Makin' Pick: Wisconsin -6 4.Tuesday 7p.m.: Providence (19-8) @ #6 Villanova (25-2) Vegas: Villanova -10.5 Providence has quietly had a very solid season this year, and baring any collapse, will be going to the tourney. However, they have to go play Nova at home where they are undefeated this year. Nova just beat Providence by 6 at their place just 2 weeks ago. That being said, it is hard to blow out conference teams, and I just think the spread is too large. Kyle's NOT-SO Money Makin' Pick: Providence +10.5 5.Tuesday 7p.m.: Texas (17-10) @ #17 West Virginia (21-6) Vegas: West Virginia -4.5 Boy has West Virginia really turned it around as of late. After a fantastic start, they lost 3 of 4 and all where blow outs. But in back-to-back games now, they have beat Kansas and OKST. Texas on the other hand is 1-9 against the top 50 this season. That one win was a home game against, yes, West Virginia. That being said, WV is playing very well and I just do not trust Texas at all. Kyle's NOT-SO Money Makin' Pick: West Virginia -4.5 6.Tues. 8p.m.:N.Carolina St.(16-11)@# 22 N. Carolina (19-8) Vegas: North Carolina -8.5 UNC continues to be a top tier team in every stat category, but finds themselves with 8 losses. NCST can not afford many more losses, and this would be a huge step towards the tourney if they were able to pull it off. NCST is just 3-5 in their last 8, but are on a 2 game winning streak. They lost by 2 at home vs UNC, but the Dean Dome will be rockin'. I just don't see a rivalry being a blow out though, give me the points. Kyle's NOT-SO Money Makin' Pick: North Carolina St +8.5 7.Tuesday 9p.m.: Texas A&M (19-7) @ #14 Arkansas (22-5) Vegas: Arkansas -7.5 With many of the top 25 losing these last couple weeks, Arkansas has quietly been ,oving right on up the rankings. They are on a 6 game winning streak and have won 9 of 10. A&M is squarely on the bubble, and could really use a win like this. They have won 10 of 12 and have beat some decent teams as of late. I like A&M to hang around and maybe pull off this upset in Arkansas. Kyle's NOT-SO Money Makin' Pick: Texas A&M +7.5 8.Wed. 7p.m.: Davidson (19-6) @ Rhode Island (19-6) Vegas: Rhode Island -3 Absolutely a HUGE game here! Rhode Island has been making a push for sometime now for a spot in the tourney, while Davidson is in, but barely. Davidson is on a 5 game winning streak, but is just 4-3 on the road in conference. Rhode Island is on a 3 game winning streak and is 6-1 at home, with their only loss against VCU. I don't want to bet against the road team, but Davidson is one of the best scoring teams in the nation. Their experienced and well coached, I like Davidson in a nail-biter. Kyle's NOT-SO Money Makin' Pick: Davidson +3 9.Wednesday 7p.m.: Valparaiso (25-4) @ Detroit (13-17) Vegas: Valparaiso -4.5 Valpo can wrap up the Horizon league officially tonight with a win. On the other side, Detroit has lost 5 of 7 and have just 1 win over anyone besides the worst team in the Horizon (Youngstown St) since Jan. 19th. I love this spread, and think Valpo rolls! Kyle's NOT-SO Money Makin' Pick: Valparaiso -4.5 10.Wednesday 9p.m.: Georgia (17-9) @ Ole Miss (19-8) Vegas: Ole Miss -5.5 Georgia got a must win @Bama this past weekend, and still ahve some work to do on their resume. Ole Miss on the other hand is 8-1 in their last 9 games, but still is no lock in the tourney. Ole Miss is the better team and are 5-2 at home in conference, while GA is 4-3 on the road. I like Ole Miss, but barely to cover. Kyle's NOT-SO Money Makin' Pick: Ole Miss -5.5 11.Wed. 9p.m.: #18 Baylor (20-7) @ #13 Iowa St (20-6) Vegas: Iowa St -6.5 Iowa St has a chance to move into a tie for 1st place in the Big 12 with a win here, while Baylor could use a big road win on their resume. iowa St is undefeated at home this season, while Baylor has lost 4 games on the road already this season. I do not trust Baylor away from home, and I love Iowa St especially at home. Kyle's NOT-SO Money Makin' Pick: Iowa St -6.5 12.Wednesday 9p.m.: Illinois (17-10) @ Iowa (17-10) Vegas: Iowa -7 Both teams could really use this game. Illinois needs a decent road win to get their resume up, while Iowa just needs wins right now. I think both are in as of now (close with ILL) but both teams are dangerously close to slipping out of the tourney. Iowa has lost 2 of their last 3 home games, while Illinois is a terrible 2-5 on the road in conference. I am not sure who will win, but I love getting 7 points here! Kyle's NOT-SO Money Makin' Pick: Illinois +7 13.Thursday 9p.m.: #16 SMU (22-5) @ Memphis (17-10) Vegas: SMU -2.5 SMU is scorching hot right now, winning 12 of their last 13, and 20 of their last 22. they started out 2-3, and where missing Markus Kennedy, but ever since have been steam rolling. They are 6-1 on the road in conference, with a 6 game road winning streak. Memphis is currently on a 3 game winning streak, and is about to start a 4 game streak that if they win 3 or 4 should have an argument for the tournament. They are 6-2 in conference at home, but their best win there is vs UCONN. I think SMU wins this one pretty easily. Kyle's NOT-SO Money Makin' Pick: SMU -2.5
