Here is my first College Basketball Post! It is my Preseason Top 25 and "Teams to Watch" that are not in the top 25. Hope you enjoy!
Preseason Top 25 1.Kentucky Loaded roster in a below average conference. Last year's tourney run was not a fluke. 2.Wisconsin Putting a lot of faith in the experience of Kaminsky and the coach Bo Ryan. This is my preseason National Champion. 3.Duke Coach K has one of his younger squads, but definitely one of his most talented. Early Matchups between WIS and UCONN should be fun. Okafor is my preseason Freshman of the year. 4.Arizona Easiest “power conference” in college basketball. Arizona will walk through it. 5.Kansas After losing 2 top picks, Kansas reloaded and will look to win another Big 12 title. 6.Florida 7.Louisville Not a common player of the year pick, but he is mine. I think Monterezl Harrell will be a beast this year. He avg. 14ppg and 8.4 rebs last season, and now will be a focal point in the offense. 8.North Carolina 9. Iowa State 10. Wichita State 11. Texas 12. Villanova 13. Gonzaga 14. Virginia 15. VCU 16. San Diego State 17. Michigan State 18. SMU 19. Connecticut 20. Oklahoma 21. Nebraska 22. Georgetown 23. Ohio State 24. Florida State 25. Harvard
TEAMS TO WATCH Kansas State You could argue they belong in the top 25. Marcus Foster is their leader, but their depth is what will make this team a contender.
Colorado State I am a big fan and supporter of the Mountain West. They consistently put teams in the tournament. Most are picking Boise to finish behind SDSU, Ill take CSU.
New Mexico Another Mt. West team here. This team is filled with JuCo’s and returning players, and that home court advantage is one of the best in the nation.
St. John’s Lavin’s job has to be on the line in 2014. They return 4 starters from a team that won 20 games, they will only be underdogs in one game before January.
Minnesota This is my sleeper team of the year. I love the way this team plays defense. Great game on Nov. 26th @ St. John’s.
